I am looking into a number of possible source language
translator/re-compiling tools and would like any feedback from this
community.

The tools we are considering are:

Mass Change Factory from Peritus Software Services
XTRAN from Pennington Systems
UNICAST from Information Analysis Inc.
Purdue COmpiler Construction Toolset from Purdue Univ
XACT Translation Tools from Applied Conversion Technologies
Language Reengineering from Synergy 2000
and Transformation Software from Reasoning Inc.

We are looking into tools which can help us port source from one
language dialect to another language dialect, across OS and Hardware
platforms. E.g. VAX/VMS C to Alpha VMS C, or HP UNIX C to WIndows/NT
Java, etc.

Any experiences to releate would be most appreciated.
