events which focus on intelligent systems and their
applications. These two events have been combined
for the 3rd offering in 1997. The objectives of the
PACES/SPICIS =8C97 conference are to promote
research and development in the areas of intelligent
systems in:

-providing a forum for the introduction and discussion
of new research results and technologies

-encouraging the exchange of ideas and experiences
in the development of artificial intelligence applications

-providing a forum for practitioners to review and
evaluate new results, tools and methods in the areas
of intelligent systems development

-providing a forum for researchers to become exposed
to practical problems in the development of intelligent
systems

This conference is designed to fulfil the needs of a
diverse body of attendees, including: researchers,
practitioners/developers, users, educators,
system managers, and product vendors. The focus
of the conference is on discovering and exploiting
new opportunities afforded by global networking and
the internet using intelligent computing techniques
through

"Intelligence in and on the Information Superhighway"

The conference will include: Tutorials, Technical Sessions
of Invited, Oral and Poster papers and an Exhibition of
Vendor Products.
