New Release of lcc, v3.0

Version 3.0 of lcc, a retargetable compiler for ANSI C, is available
for anonymous ftp from ftp.cs.princeton.edu (128.112.152.13) in
pub/lcc. The README file there gives acquisition details. Note that
this distribution is available from ftp.cs.princeton.edu, *not*
princeton.edu, which held the previous and now defunct distributions.


This distribution of lcc is a *pre-release* of the version described in
our forthcoming book `A Retargetable C Compiler: Design and
Implementation' (Benjamin Cummings, 1995, ISBN 0-8053-1670-1), which
will appear late this year. Unlike previous distributions of lcc, this
one includes the source code for the complete compiler: the front end,
the code generators for the SPARC, MIPS R3000 and Intel 386 and its
successors, and the code-generator generator that produced them.
