The 'UPS' debugger contains a pretty spiffy C interpreter, and lets one
patch interpreted code into compiled code. I've only tinkered with it,
not really used it, but I think it'll do what you want.


It's in the X11 contrib directory; look for ups-*.tar.Z in the 'contrib'
directory on export.lcs.mit.edu.
