Tremblay, Jean-Paul, and Paul G. Sorenson, "The Theory and Practice of
Compiler Writing," McGraw-Hill, 1985, 796 pages, ISBN 0-07-065161-2.


A project to implement a compiler for Gauss, an ALGOL-like language, is
shown in detail (solution code given) in:


  "An Implementation Guide to Compiler Writing", same authors etc., 1982,
259 pages, ISBN 0-07-065166-3.


I think you will find this pair of books good for a two-semester compiler
design course that might ordinarily be taught from the "Dragon book."
