ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

WAGA

International Workshop on Attribute Grammars
and their Applications

Paris -- France,
September 19-21, 1990

** SCOPE

Although AGs have been introduced more than 20 years ago, they are
still not as widely used as it could have been hoped initially, in
particular in the industry, despite their qualities as a specification
tool. The aim of WAGA is hence to show that AGs are still an active
research topic which --- and this is important --- now leads to useful
applications in various areas. It is open to anyone interested
in the field (researchers, engineers, students, ...).

** TOPICS

The workshop will cover all aspects of AGs, with an emphasis on
practical results and applications. This includes in particular (but
not only):

- semantics of AGs - AG description languages
- near-production-quality systems - attributed tree transformations
- attribute evaluation during parsing - applications such as :
- space optimizations . compiler construction
- methodology of programming with AGs . code generation
- efficient exhaustive and incremental . programming environments
    evaluation methods . source-to-source translation
- relations with other formalisms . (graph) grammar analysis
(logic programming, object-oriented . logic programming implementations
programming, functional programming, . (graphical) user interfaces
    etc.) . document manipulation
- extensions of AGs
