The mod.compilers newsgroup was created at the beginning of January
1986, and is still active as comp.compilers. It's one of the few
early groups still run by the original moderator (showing, if nothing
else, an impressive lack of imagination) that has an appreciable
amount of traffic.
I thank all the contributors who've provided consistently interesting
material over the years and offer my best wishes for '03.
