I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but
HyperTalk, the scripting language for Apple's HyperCard application,
is more or less "event based". At least, in this language you write
everything as "message handlers", where most messages are triggered by
user interface events.


The HyperCard application used to come installed on all Apple
Macintoshes. I'm not sure exactly why, but Apple has pretty much let it
die; I don't think you can even buy a copy any more. You should be able
to find documentation somewhere, though, and at least one good book on
HyperTalk scripting was published.
